We recently escaped to the Dominican Republic, and I am anxiously awaiting anyone to whisk me back. We stayed at the Hyatt Zilara Cap Cana, which is shared with the Hyatt Ziva Cap Cana in Punta Cana. This all-inclusive resort offers everything you need for a stunning trip, whether you’re headed there with your spouse, some girlfriends, or your whole family.
About The Hyatt Zilara Cap Cana and Hyatt Ziva Capa Cana
The Hyatt Zilara Cap Cana and the Hyatt Ziva Capa Cana are both all-inclusive resorts in Punta Cana about 15 minutes from the PUJ airport, so an easy ride if you’re traveling with kids. The Zilara is an adults-only escape, whereas the Ziva welcomes families. The resorts are connected by one massive gym. It’s the perfect destination when you’re traveling with a big group because you get the best of both worlds. Both offer tons of food options and amenities, so there is minimal planning required to enjoy an amazing stay.
A girlfriend and I stayed at the Ziva, just because there weren’t any rooms available at the Zilara. However, we couldn’t tell a difference! There was never any noise, and our room overlooked the beautiful pool area. We chose the Junior Suite option and it was incredibly spacious. We had 600 square feet and a private balcony all to ourselves. The room also came with a stocked fridge and snack basket. Both resorts also offer extensive room service menus. There are also some rooms with swim-up suites within the Zilara.
A few other things about both resorts: both are incredibly clean. The customer service was top-notch, and there are numerous restaurants on both sides! You can’t really choose the wrong side.
Things to Do
As I mentioned, very little planning is required to enjoy a luxurious stay here. There is so much to do whether you’re with your spouse, kids, or a big group.
Firstly, the pool area is gorgeous. On the Zilara side, the pool is accompanied by a DJ that hosts dance parties and whatnot, plus there is poolside service that makes sure you’re never without a drink. On the Ziva side, there are tons of kids and family-friendly games that are hosted throughout the day. The staff also serves pizza slices and drinks poolside for both the kids and adults. Your teens can even head into a teen club for their own little escape!
What connects the resorts is a massive, beautiful gym. It’s the most amazing gym I’ve ever seen within a hotel. They offer classes and have top-notch equipment including treadmills, bikes, ellipticals, stair steppers, free weights, and machines. I loved being able to head into the gym daily. There is also a beautiful spa with an outdoor lagoon – from what I saw, there are a ton of packages from which to choose.
Within both resorts, sailing is included in addition to surfboards and watersports. There are even water volleyball courts.
Where to Eat
You will absolutely not go hungry at the Hyatt Ziva Capa Cana or the Hyatt Zilara Capa Cana. There are food options on every turn on both sides. There weren’t a ton of differences in the restaurants; we actually enjoyed the options on both sides equally.
My favorite restaurants were the Brandos, Noodle and Thread, and Journeys, in that order. The best place for breakfast was either Shutters or Waves. Both of those spots offered shaded outdoor dining areas. There is always a fantastic breeze, so we never got too hot.
It’s on our bucket lists now to head back. The whole experience was sensational. Not a minute went by that we weren’t surrounded by beautiful scenery – from the pool to each and every restaurant. I highly recommend a visit to either the Hyatt Ziva Capa Cana or the Hyatt Zilara Capa Cana. You won’t regret it!
