What I Eat in a Day

I get asked a lot about some of my favorite things to eat in a day. Fitness and health are both very important to me, so I try to eat a well-balanced diet to keep me feeling strong and able. Here are my favorite go-to’s for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and everything in between! Let’s get started!

What I Eat for Breakfast

I always start my day with Newman’s Own Coffee and dairy-free creamer. Sometimes I’ll throw in Collagen for Her.

Option #1: Two slices of Ezekiel bread toasted, half an avocado, salt/ pepper/red pepper flakes drizzle of honey
Option #2: Avocado Toast: 1 slice of toasted sourdough, 1/2 avocado, a drizzle of honey, and salt/pepper. I’ll add an egg if I’m headed to work out.
Option #3: ¾ cup oatmeal with 1 tbsp honey and 2 oz. almonds
Option #4: 2 eggs over with easy sautéed spinach, cherry tomatoes, and ¼ of an avocado
Option #5: 1/2 cup Organic Quick Oats heated with water or almond milk, 1/2 banana, and a few strawberries with 1 Tbs. Almond Butter or Peanut butter

Mid-Morning Snack Favorites

Since I’m on the go a lot, I always include at least one or two snacks in my day to keep my energy up.

Option #1: Apple & almond butter
Option #2: A Built Bar
Option #3: 5 carrot sticks, 1 medium apple w/ 2 tbsp peanut butter, and 1 cup of fresh orange juice
Option #4: Protein Shake: 1 banana, 1 cup strawberries, Almond milk, 1 serving protein powder, 1 serving super greens – shop my protein and super greens hereUse Code: 190348 in the “team Member ID’ for a discount
Option #5: 1/2 apple with sprinkled cinnamon, dipped in almond butter or peanut butter (about 1 Tbs)
Option #6: Acai bowl with bananas, strawberries, granola, honey, and blueberries.

What I Eat for Lunch

Since I eat on the go a lot, here are a few of my quick go-to lunch spots, plus what I order from each!

Cava Salad Bowl

Whole Foods: Sushi bowl (salmon or shrimp)

Cava: Salad bowl with harissa chicken, roasted veggies, pickled onions, cucumbers, tomato, pita crisps

Chick-fil-A: chefs salad with fat-free honey mustard and a half sweet, half unsweetened tea

Panera Bread: Roasted Turkey & Avocado BLT. I leave off the bacon only because I don’t eat pork.

Tazikis: the shrimp feast with roasted potatoes.

At-Home Options:
Option #1: Turkey, cheese & tomato sandwich on toasted sourdough with spicy aioli
Option #2: Toast one whole wheat pita, spread with 1 tbsp pesto. Top with arugula, 2 oz grilled chicken, and 3 grape tomatoes, halved
Option #3: Chefs Salad: Mix Romaine/Spinach, Turkey, Cherry Tomatoes, avocado,  cucumbers, Turkey Bacon & Egg.  I use a yogurt-based salad dressing to cut back on fat/calories

Mid-Afternoon Snacks

Once again, gotta have those snacks to keep my energy and protein up!

Option #1: Protein smoothie – Lifetime vegan chocolate protein, 1 banana, and 1 cup frozen berries.
Option #2: Built Bar
Option #3: 1 oz goat cheese, 1 small bunch of grapes, 11 oz of walnuts, and 6 whole-wheat crackers
Option #4: Single serving of PopCorner chips. I’m also OBSESSED with Olipop which is caffeine-free and so good!

what i eat: popcorners

What I Eat for Dinner

Option #1: Spinach & Romaine salad with strawberries, goat cheese, pecans & poppy seed dressing. I’ll add either grilled chicken or shrimp for my protein.
Option #2: Marinated chicken breast cooked on the grill, small baked sweet potato, and roasted zucchini
Option #3: Grilled 3 oz salmon, 1 large tomato, ½ eggplant, ¼ quinoa
Option #4: Grilled chicken breast marinated in Italian dressing. I’ll include a small baked potato with Earth Balance butter and Everything But The Bagel seasoning. Roasted vegetables of your choosing!
Option #5: This salad is the best side and includes healthy carbs and lots of great veggies (I use crunchy chickpeas & goat cheese).  Pair with grilled fish, chicken, or beef.

Favorite After Dinner Snacks

I try not to eat too late into the night but when I do I stick with popcorn, a yogurt ice cream pop, or a protein bar (usually Built Bar or Krisp Bar). Hot chamomile tea is great too!

There you have it – some of my favorites of what I eat in a day! Don’t forget – it’s okay to have treats every now and then, especially when it makes a little boy smile with you!
